Introduction
Filigree is a browser extension that restyles text into fancy Unicode fonts inside editable fields on social sites (and via a copy-paste generator in its popup). This policy explains exactly what it does and does not do with your data.
Filigree has no server of its own. It does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data.
What Filigree stores, and where
Everything Filigree saves stays inside your own browser. It is never sent to us, because we operate no server or analytics of any kind.

The text you style
Styling happens entirely on your device. The text you select in a field, or type into the popup generator, is transformed locally and is never read, logged, or transmitted anywhere by Filigree. The popup's "Copy" button only places the styled text on your clipboard when you click it. Filigree does not read, collect, or transmit the content of the pages you visit.
Payments
The one-time Pro purchase is handled by ExtensionPay, a third-party service that uses Stripe for payment processing. When you choose to buy or restore Pro, you interact with ExtensionPay's own pages. ExtensionPay processes your email address to manage your license, under its own privacy policy and Stripe's.
Filigree itself only receives a yes/no "paid" status. We do not see or store your payment details.
Permissions
- storage: to remember your Pro status and the list of sites you chose to enable.
- activeTab: to read the address of the current tab, only so the popup can offer to enable Filigree on that site.
- scripting (Chrome): to add the styling bar on the sites you explicitly enable.
- Access to instagram.com, x.com / twitter.com, discord.com, reddit.com, youtube.com: so the styling bar can work in their text fields.
- Optional access to other sites: requested only when you click "Enable on this site", and used solely to show the styling bar there. You can revoke it at any time from the popup.
- Access to extensionpay.com: only to check your Pro license status with ExtensionPay.
Not affiliated with the platforms
Filigree is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Instagram, X, Discord, Reddit, YouTube, or any other site. It only transforms text you type or select yourself; it does not automate actions on your behalf.
No tracking
Filigree contains no analytics, no advertising, no trackers, and no third-party scripts beyond the ExtensionPay library used for the optional purchase.
