Introduction

ParkLedger is a comprehensive parking management application that allows you to track your parking locations, manage your vehicles and control your expenses. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

ParkLedger is designed with a privacy-first approach. All your data (notes, photos, history, statistics) remains exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

Note on location: To improve GPS accuracy, the application may use Google location services (if available). This feature is optional - the application also works offline with native GPS.

Locally Stored Data

The application stores the following data exclusively on your device, in the application's local storage:

Location Usage

ParkLedger uses your device's GPS functionality to record your parking location:

Online mode (more accurate)

Uses Google location services to improve accuracy
Combines GPS, Wi-Fi, and cellular towers for optimal positioning
Only data transmitted: positioning request to Google services
Obtained coordinates are stored only locally on your device

Offline mode (less accurate)

Uses only your device's native GPS
No Internet connection required
Variable accuracy depending on environment (less reliable indoors or in underground parking)
100% local, no data transmitted

Important: Regardless of the method used, your GPS coordinates are always stored locally on your device and are never sent to our servers. No background tracking is performed.

Camera Usage

ParkLedger can use your device's camera to take photos of your parking location. These photos:

Are taken only at your explicit request
Are stored locally in the application
Are automatically compressed (50% quality) to save space
Have their EXIF metadata disabled to protect your privacy
Are never transmitted to external servers
Can be deleted at any time

Ticket Scanning (OCR)

ParkLedger includes a parking ticket scanning feature:

Text recognition (OCR) is performed entirely locally on your device
No ticket images are sent to external servers
Extracted data (price, zone, date) remains on your device
Ticket photos are kept locally as receipts

Digital Parking Import

ParkLedger allows you to import data from digital parking applications (EasyPark, PayByPhone, Flowbird, ParkNow, Indigo Neo, etc.):

Import is done by copy-pasting text or sharing from the other application
No direct connection to third-party parking services
ParkLedger does not access your accounts on these services
Extracted data is stored only locally

Notifications

Meter reminders use your device's local notification system:

Notifications are generated locally on your device
No data is sent to external push servers
You can disable notifications in the app settings or your device settings

Biometric Lock

ParkLedger offers a biometric lock option to secure access to your data:

Authentication uses your device's native biometric system
No biometric data is collected or stored by the application
The application only receives a success or failure confirmation of authentication

Export Features

ParkLedger offers several options to export your data:

CSV export: complete history in spreadsheet format
Accounting ZIP export: CSV + all photos (location and tickets) for receipts
PDF export: individual parking journal with unique reference
Full backup: ZIP backup of all your data and photos

All these features:

Are triggered only by you, manually
Generate files stored locally on your device
Do not transmit any data to external servers
Give you full control over sharing these files

What We Do Not Collect

No personally identifiable information (name, email, phone)
No transmission of your GPS coordinates to our servers
No advertising identifiers
No usage data transmitted to analytics services
No cookies or trackers
No background location tracking
No access to your digital parking accounts (EasyPark, etc.)

Regarding Google services: When you use location with an Internet connection, a request is sent to Google location services to improve accuracy. However, the resulting coordinates remain exclusively on your device.

Data Security

All data is stored locally on your device and benefits from the following protections:

Storage in the application's private space, inaccessible to other applications
Optional biometric lock to protect access
Yearly purge function to delete old data
Complete data deletion upon uninstallation

Android Widget

The Android widget displays parking information on your home screen:

Displayed data comes only from the application's local storage
GPS coordinates are not displayed on the widget for security reasons
To view the exact location, you must open the app (and authenticate if locked)
No network connection is required or used by the widget
The widget respects the same privacy principles as the main application

Your Rights

Since no data is collected by our services, there is no personal data to view, modify or delete on our end. You have full control over your data:

Delete individual entries in history
Use the yearly purge function
Export your data before deletion
Uninstall the application to delete all data
